Computerized Visual Field Test
Computerized Visual Field Test
Computerized Visual Field Test is an important vision test that evaluates a person's visual field, including central and peripheral vision. This test is used by our expert physicians at SEVGİGÖZ for the diagnosis and monitoring of various eye diseases, assisting in the evaluation of patients' visual function.

Computerized Visual Field Test measures the amount of light or objects perceived at different points in a person's visual field. This test assesses both the central vision (the area directly in front) and peripheral vision (side and upper-lower vision). During the test, the person is instructed to look at where a specific light or object is appearing, and their responses are recorded.

One of the most common applications of Computerized Visual Field Test is in the diagnosis and monitoring of glaucoma (damage to the optic nerve due to increased intraocular pressure). Glaucoma typically starts in the peripheral vision and can progress to affect central vision. Therefore, Computerized Visual Field Test is important for detecting early signs of glaucoma and monitoring disease progression. It is also used in the monitoring of certain retina diseases, such as Retinitis Pigmentosa.
Additionally, Computerized Visual Field Test is important in the evaluation and monitoring of neurological conditions such as optic nerve damage, optic neuropathy, papilledema, brain tumors, or traumatic brain injuries. These conditions often affect the visual field, and the test can be used to determine the extent and location of the damage.
